Summary[edit]

Description

Page 57 of brochure Seattle and the Orient (1900). This page includes text plus a photo captioned "Factory of Rohlfs & Schoder."

Text on sign across top of building on left says "Rohlfs & Schoder's Furniture Factory". Signs further down, only partly legible, say "[illegible] / any / saloon / store & / office / fixtures", "All / kinds / of / hardware / lumber", and (on right) "Scroll / sawing / Etc. & Etc.". The scroll sign below is illegible.

The large sign on the building at right says "Rohlfs & Schoder's / Mill". The words to the left and right of "Mill" seem to be illegible, but below that it says "Doors, windows, mouldings / Steamoat work a specialty." This sign appears to be covering an older, curved sign saying, in part "ERCIAL ST" ("Commercial store"? "Commercial Street" (the old name of First Avenue)?)
