Title
English: Seattle Police Tug-of-War champions, July 1924
Description
English:

The Seattle Police Sports Association was organized in 1922 to promote athletics within the police department. Seattle police athletes competed against other departments from Tacoma, Portland, Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria, and other Northwest cities in track and field events, such as the 100 meter dash, javelin throw, and various marksmanship events. In July 1924, the Seattle Police Department won the Tug-of-War competition, as well as the revolver competition, at the annual Seattle Police Department Field Day at Denny Field. The image shows a line up of the Seattle Police department Tug-of-War team, with the caption "1924 Champion Tug of War team of the Pacific Northwest, U.S., and Canada," and the name of each man pictured.
