Summary
[edit]DescriptionSeat for people with disabilities to use a pit latrine squatting pan (Pakistan) (5600799213).jpg |
English: A chair with a hole in it placed on top of a pour flush latrine in an emergency medical camp after the Pakistan earthquake. The arms of the chair act as handrails to help the user get into the chair. The chair surface is well varnished and smooth for easy cleaning. This is a good example of how easily it can be to make simple adaptations quickly for emergency sanitation. However a better design would have been to also have a larger space inside the unit so that the users can more easily get inside and close the door.
