Summary[edit]

Description
English: Schuko outlet wiring, especially actual for DIYers. Do this only if you feel enough knowledges. If you not feel yourself good in this field of science, don't do at all to avoid accidents. Let's examine how to do it in old Soviet apartment block (built in 1970's) example installing Busch-Jaeger outlet with self-locking terminals:
  • Step 1: make yourself convinced, that voltage is removed. Better do it by 2-pole test light. Incandescent light bulb for this purposes is not allowed at all. Use neon or LED test light.
  • Step 2: when you are sure, that voltage is missing - start to work. Begin from setting the box for reliable fixing in hole.
  • Step 3: strip the wires.
  • Step 4: remove the cover from your outlet.
  • Step 5: first push ground wire till clamping.
  • Step 6: then push load wires till clamping.
  • Step 7: tighten outlet's screws on each side.
  • Step 8: tighten box's screws on each side.
  • Step 9: put the cover and twirl screws.
  • Step 10: work is finished, it's time to give voltage to the outlet; outlet is ready to use!
