Description
Deutsch: Die Abbildung zeigt Lösungen der Schrödinger-Gleichung (Wellenfunktionen) eines Teilchens in einem endlich hohen Potentialtopf für verschiedenen Teilchenenergien (geringere Energien führen zu einer Streckung der Funktion). Nur die obere und untere, nicht aber die mittlere Funktion sind stetig; daher sind nur bestimmte Energiewerte von Teilchen, nämlich die, die zu stetigen Funktionen führen, "erlaubt".
English: The image shows solutions of the Schrödinger equation (wave functions) of a particle in a infite potential well for different particle's energies (lower energies cause streching of the function). Just the top and the bottom function, but no the one in the middle, are continuous; therefore only specific energies of particles, those, which cause continous function, are "permitted".
