Summary[edit]

Description
A. auf definiert.
English: The image shows an experimental setup, which (idealized) creates an potential well for negative charged particles (particular electrons), as exemplary shown here. The two capacitors (German: Kondensator) have each one plate with holes, through which electrons might go. If electrons are in the area between the plates of a single capacitor, they are pushed back into the white area between the capacitors due to the electric field of the capacitor, which pushes negative charged particels contrawise to the field lines. Bit this only, if their kinetic energy is less than the electric energy of the field within the capacitor – otherwise they could overcome the potential well and flew out of it. In the white area, within the potential well, acts no force on the electron, which is why is constant there, generally defined on .
