Summary[edit]

Description

sand rattle, Astragalus sabulonum, Nevada, North Muddy Mountains, Logan Wash, Moapa Valley - Colorado River drainage, elevation 525 m (1725 ft).

When not in flower, this common species has to be distinguished carefully from the rare Astragalus geyeri var. triquetrus, with which it grows frequently. The darker green leaflets with hairs more spreading are diagnostic, as are the dark pink-purple flowers when present.
