500 years ago, around 1410 was built a small church for the seamen, (people of the sea), so that they guarded an image of the Virgin, revered are much on top of the crag called Stone of Mua. To his turn modest houses were growing to receive the pilgrims whom here they were demanding. Giving later (1715) place to the construction of the guest houses with houses and shops also known by the houses of the wax candles.

To the Lady of the Promontory, designation given to Saint Mary of Mua Stone , they flow different and numerous groups of wax candles (great groups of pilgrims). It went to the designated Wax candle Country bumpkin (pilgrims of the surroundings of the capital) who fitted the incentive of the construction of the sanctuary, according to it is possible to read in a tombstone near the door of the church: " Houses of Our Lady of the Promontory when accomodation of the butlers who will come to give dinner for paupers was done on account of the pilgrims of the Country bumpkins in the year of 1757 p. ".
