Bahasa Indonesia: Ketua Panli HIV AIDS PIMS Prof. Dr. dr. Samsuridjal Djauzi, Sp.PD menjelaskan awal pertama HIV/AIDS masuk ke Indonesia dibandingkan dengan sekarang jauh berbeda dari segi jumlah korban. Karena kehadiran ARV itu, angka kematian akibat HIV/AIDS jadi menurun. Ia mengatakan tahun 1986 ada laporan kasus seorang perempuan Indonesia di sebuah rumah sakit menderita HIV. Kemudian tahun 1987 di Bali terdapat seorang wisatawan asal Belanda yang meninggal karena HIV.
English: Chairperson of the PIMS HIV AIDS Committee, Prof. Dr. dr. Samsuridjal Djauzi, Sp.PD explained that the first time HIV/AIDS entered Indonesia compared to now is much different in terms of the number of victims. Due to the presence of ARVs, the death rate from HIV/AIDS has decreased. He said that in 1986 there was a case report of an Indonesian woman in a hospital suffering from HIV. Then in 1987 in Bali there was a tourist from the Netherlands who died of HIV.
