Description
English: Located in Region VIII, 18 km. west of Yungay, this spectacular leap so little known, has a waterfall which falls Itata River 75 meters. high and the cliffs, which were formed by erosion of the rock, caused over time by the river, one can see lush vegetation with shrubs and wild flowers that surround the place.


On the same course Itata River is also the Itata Saltillo, in a beautiful natural landscape with a pond and an environment of many trees such as willows, poplars. In the Itata River, especially on the jumps there is abundant fishing for trout, salmon and mackerel, this sector is suitable for swimming, hiking and photography

Roadways

To reach Itata breaks should go to the town of Yungay, then you must head west of town over a distance of 18 kilometers from Yungay a gravel road.
Español: Situado en la VIII Región, a 18 km. al oeste de Yungay, este espectacular salto tan poco conocido, tiene una cascada en la cuál el Río Itata cae de 75 mts. de altura por sus acantilados, los cuáles fueron formados por la erosión de la roca, provocada en el transcurso del tiempo por el río, se puede apreciar su abundante vegetación con arbustos y flores silvestres que rodean el lugar.


Por el mismo curso del Río Itata se encuentra además el Saltillo del Itata, en un hermoso paraje con una laguna natural y un entorno de muchos árboles, tales como sauces, álamos. En el río Itata, sobre todo en los saltos hay abundante pesca de truchas, salmón y pejerrey, este mismo sector es apto para la natación, excursiones y fotografía

Vías de acceso

Para llegar a los Saltos de Itata debe dirigirse hasta la localidad de Yungay, posteriormente debe dirigirse al oeste de la ciudad recorriendo una distancia desde Yungay de 18 kilómetros por un camino de ripio.
