Español: Museo Guggenheim, ría y paseo de Abandoibarra Puente de La Salve. Obra de Juan Batanero de principios de los setenta con el objetivo de conseguir una salida rápida de Bilbao hacia Begoña por la ladera de Artxanda. Su funcionalidad se vio completada con la apertura de los túneles de Artxanda, y su imagen mejoró cuando se instaló junto a él el Museo Guggenheim, proporcionando así un acceso directo.El último paso en la integración del puente con el museo se produjo en octubre de 2007 con el proyecto de Daniel Buren, ganador del concurso de intervención artística en el puente de La Salve, convocado con motivo del décimo aniversario del Guggenheim. La obra del francés Daniel Buren, titulada Arcos Rojos, cubre con un revestimiento de color rojo vivo los pilares de los que penden los tirantes que sujetan el puente, formando un arco. La obra gana mayor vistosidad de noche, gracias a los sistemas de iluminación dinámica.El nombre del puente proviene de la plaza de la Salve, situada en la margen derecha. La plaza recibió este nombre ya que era el punto a cuya altura, los marineros de los barcos que iban por la ría, rezaban una salve cuando se divisaba la Basílica de Begoña. |
