Notes | The original sculpture was cast stone, painted with a dark metallic bronze colour[1]; the statue was slated for removal and destruction due to deteriorating condition, when a 'public outcry' resulted in it being recast in bronze[2]; the actual, current material of the sculpture remains unclear, as some contemporary sources claim it is an "8-foot black cement sculpture on 4-foot concrete pedestal"[3] | ||||||||||||||||||||
