Title
SOM-7BCF85: Post-Medieval spur
Description
English: Fragment of a copper alloy Post-Medieval rowl spur, probably of mid 17th to mid 18th century date. Only the central section of the spur, which would sit against the heel of the foot, survives. This is 'D' shaped in cross-section and tapers slightly away from the heel towards the breaks. Extending from this is a rowl-shank, begining with a small rounded collar and then dividing into two seperate arms. The rowl itself is now missing. One arm of the shank is partially missing. The metal survives in fairly good condition with a dark, shiny patina.
