Description A U.S. Navy Lockheed S-3A Viking (BuNo 159764) from Anti-Submarine Squadron VS-28 Gamblers flies over the aircraft carrier USS Indpendence (CV-62), during operations off the coast of Beirut, Lebanon on 6 Dec 1983. VS-28 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 6 (CVW-6) aboard the Indpendence for a deployment to Grenada and the Mediterranean Sea from 18 October 1983 to 11 April 1984. The pilot on this flight was LT Rick "Spike" Martin and co-pilot LT Marshall "Narv" Narveson.
