Ruth Oppenheim speaks about her experience as a Jewish child living in Germany during World War II and her memory of Kristallnacht (The Night of Broken Glass) during the inaugural genocide studies conference “Cases of Slow Genocide in the 21st Century” held at U.S. Naval War College. Mrs. Oppenheim is a Holocaust survivor, educator and author. The conference brought together scholars, students and staff for thoughtful discussions and analysis of past failures to prevent genocide and current evidence of slow genocide.
