Summary
[edit]DescriptionRusso-Balt-hood-ornament.jpg | A 1912 Russo-Balt mod. "D" 24/40. This is actually the only fire engine made by the Russo-Balt factory. It is based on the 1 ton truck chassis and was ordered by Riga Peter's Fire Fighters Association. It was found as scrap metal and was dissassembled in the home of former fire fighter J. Mezhpapans in Rauna in 1976. In 1978 it was renovated by AAK and the fire department of Latvia SSR. It is powered by a 4501 cc, four cylinder, 40 hp side valve engine goving a top speed of 40 km/h. |
