| Description |
English: Ruins of townhouses between Sienna and Śliska Streets viewed from Wielka Street in Warsaw during WWII. Well preserved building, in the center was standing on Śliska 6/8 Street. During the war this neighborhood belonged to Warsaw Ghetto and after the war it become part of Defilad Square. Couple people in the photograph have arm bands which are most likely star-of-David bands worn by Jews in the getto before Getto Uprising in 1943.
Polski: Ruiny kamienic między ulicą Sienną a Śliską widziane od ulicy Wielkiej w Warszawie. Od lewej: tyly oficyny bocznej na posesji Śliska 3, ruiny z przejazdem bramnym kamienicy Sienna 10 róg Wielka 17 róg Śliska 1, Śliska 6/8, wypalona Śliska 4 i fragment budynku Śliska 2 róg Wielka 19. Fotografia z czasów okupacji albo tuż po wojnie. Okolica w czasie wojny należała do Warszawskiego getta a po wojnie weszła w obręb Placu Defilad. Paru ludzi na fotografii ma opaski na rękawach które prawdopodobnie są opaskami noszonymi przez Żydów z getta. |
