English: Two rubber bands attached on a cylindrical glass vase, illustrating two different geodesics on the surface. The green one provides the shortest path between the orange dots, while the white one does not.
Suomi: Kaksi kuminauhaa lieriömäisen lasivaasin pinnalla havainnollistamassa kahta eri geodeesia lieriöpinnalla. Vihreä kuminauha kulkee oranssien pisteiden välistä lyhintä reittiä, mutta valkoinen ei.
