Summary[edit]

Description
English: Routemaster bus RM1005 (reg. 5 CLT) pictured leaving Salisbury Plain army training area in Wiltshire through the Gore Cross Gate, heading east. It's just come from the abandoned village of Imber, which was evacuated during World War II and is now part of the training area. While it's wearing the route number and destination blinds used by RM1005 and other Routemasters while operating the Imber bus service, the once a year service connecting Imber to the rest of the world, it's not actually operating it on this day (hence why its empty). The service was run in September in 2010 & 2011, while this was taken on 3 January 2011 - one of the other days of the year when public access was allowed to Imber. The reason for the journey was to visit Imber for a cheque presentation to St Giles' Church, for the proceeds from previous year's bus service.
