Description
English: The Traditionsschiff Typ Frieden is the main exhibit of the museum of shipping of Rostock (and its housing too). The vessel is the last known survivor of the 10.000 tonnes freighter series Type IV, also known as Typ Frieden (type peace) build for the Deutsche Seereederei on GDR shipyards with 15 ships build. It operated from 1958 until 1969 under the name of MS Dresden.
Deutsch: Das Traditionsschiff Typ Frieden ist das größte Ausstellungsstück des Rostocker Schiffsbaumuseums und gleichzeitig dessen Herberge. Das Schiff gehört zur in 15 Exemplaren für die auf DDR-Werften für die Deutsche Seereederei gebauten 10 000-Tonnen-Frachtschiffserie Typ IV, auch als Typ Frieden bekannt und ist das letzte bekannte erhaltene Exemplar; es war zwischen 1958 und 1969 als MS Dresden in Fahrt.
Français : Le Traditionsschiff Typ Frieden est l'élément central du musée de la navigation de Rostock - le navire héberge le musée tout en étant la plus grande pièce exposée. Il s'agit de l'ex-MS Dresden, un cargo d'une série de 15 navires de 10 000 tonnes connu sous le non de Type IV ou Typ Frieden (type paix) construits pour la société d'armement Deutsche Seerederei de la RDA sur les chantiers navals locaux sur la mer Baltique. Le Dresden a servi pour 11 ans entre 1958 et 1969.
