Description
English: PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks.

I had to pay extra to go into this castle as it was not part of the tour. I take all the opportunities I can, to see as much as I can when I travel.

Pelişor Castle is part of the same complex as the larger castle of Pele. It was built in 1899–1903 by order of King Carol I, as the residence for his nephew and heir, the future King Ferdinand (son of Carol's brother Leopold von Hohenzollern) and Ferdinand's consort Queen Mary.

In 1914, after the death of King Charles 1, the Royal Couple became monarchs. The climax in the reign of King Ferdinand was in 1918, it is the year when, after the end of World War I, Romania reunites with the historical provinces Bessarabia, Bucovina and Transylvania.
