Description
English: 1857 Portrait of Robert H. Vance. Robert H. Vance (1825-1876), was an early daguerrotypist and photographer in California from 1851-1862, with galleries throughout northern California, including Sacramento, Marysville, San Jose and San Francisco. He was the first person to teach Carleton Watkins to take photos.
