Description
English: Arms of Richard Beaple (1564–43) of Barnstaple, Devon, a wealthy merchant, ship owner and member of the Spanish Company, thrice Mayor of Barnstaple, in 1607, 1621 and 1635. Detail from his mural monument in SS Peter and Mary Magdalene parish church, Barnstaple. Arms: Gules, a bend vairy between six escallops argent. In the chaplet encircling the escutcheon are shown the initials "RB" together with his merchant's mark.
