Summary
[edit]DescriptionRibbon cut on renovated kindergarten in Georgia (15849226329).jpg | Kindergarten students celebrate the completion of their two-story school renovation project Dec. 3 at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Tbilisi, Georgia. The school serves 470 children, including 15 with disabilities. The overhaul made the existing facilities more handicapped-friendly, meaning the school can now accommodate additional disabled children. It’s among three kindergartens in the country attempting to integrate children with special needs into traditional classrooms. U.S. European Command funded the $306,700 project, which was managed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District’s Caucasus Project Office. It covered installation of an elevator, boiler, security fence, handicapped-accessible playground and bathrooms, and new roof. U.S. Embassy Georgia, LSG Technology and the Georgia Ministry of Health were among other partner agencies involved. (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers courtesy photo) |
