Italiano: Il fungo Rhodotus palmatus (Physalacriaceae) è una specie poco comune, è candidata in più della metà delle Liste Rosse Europee dei Funghi ed elencata come in pericolo critico, in pericolo o quasi minacciata. L'esemplare della foto cresceva su un tronco caduto in un Parco urbano di Roma (Villa Ada).
English: Rhodotus palmatus in a park in Rome. It is an apricot pink saprotrophic fungus growing on trunks and branches of dead deciduous wood. This species has a prevalently circumboreal distribution and is rare, it is included in Red Lists of 11 countries and protected by law in several European countries. The species is threatened by the reduction of suitable substrates (elm and ash wood) due to pollution, to fungal diseases and removal of dead wood from forests and parks. It is important to preserve dead wood of fallen trees, not only in forests but also in parkland and urban areas.
