Description
English: An alternative to A MakerBot Replicator 2's original cable wire tie is to make one out of 14 gauge copper electrical wire, as shown here. This approach has a problem with scratching the plastic top/side cover, an issue not yet resolved. This picture shows the right side view of the wire tie, with the active cooling fan at the top. The white horizontal line is the incoming filament. Evidence of the plastic scratching problem is visible just above the filament and just to the left of the copper wire/cable sheath. Part of the active cooling fan is visible at the top left of the photo.
