English: Remains of mine buildings at Poldice Mine In the distance can be seen the engine houses at Killifreth. Tin and copper extraction at Poldice dates back to Medieval times but the mine closed in 1867. It was re-worked from 1870-73 for the production of arsenic and the buildings now remaining date from this time. |
