Summary[edit]

Description
English: Part of a slab (maybe a door-jamb) with inscription of the hyksos pharaoh Apophis. The inscription says:

"...The Son of Ra, Apepi, giving life..." "...he has [made] many flag-staves and a door of bronze for his god (probably Seth)..."

Red granite, found in Tell Basta (Bubastis) by Édouard Naville in 1887-1889, but originally from Avaris. Reign of Apepi, 15th Dynasty, end of the Second Intermediate Period. London, British Museum 1101.
