Deutsch: Nationalistische Karikatur von 1887. Das goldene Herrschaftsjubiläum von Königin Victoria war Anlass für große öffentliche Feierlichkeiten in England, während es in Irland eine Zeit von Land War (englisch für „Krieg um Land“, irisch „Cogadh na Talún“), Zwangsgesetzen und Vertreibungen war. Nach siebenundachtzig Jahren der Union wurde Irland als "instabil, untreu und verarmt" beschrieben. Auf der Tür hinter der weiblichen Figur in Ketten, die Erin symbolisch für Irland darstellt, steht der Satz „Zelle 87 für Fräulein Erin“. Das Schild auf der Statue Königin Victoria's erklärt „50 Jahre des Wohlstands und eine milde Herrschaft“, das Stück Papier am Boden zeigt dagegen die andere Seite von Victoria's Leistungen in Irland, nämlich das 'Jubiläum der Zwangsgesetze ... Vertreibung ... Stillstand ... Armut'. Die Figur im Hintergrund mit dem orangen Hutband der Protestanten stellt den britischen Premierminister Lord Salisbury dar. Der Titel der Karikatur lautet „Rejoice oh! greatly“ (Oh freue dich!), offenbar in Anlehnung an das Buch Sacharja, Kapitel 9,Vers 9 in der Bibel. Dort steht: English: Nationalist caricature of 1887. The golden jubilee of Queen Victoria’s reign was an occasion of great public celebrations in England, while in Ireland it was a time of Land War, coercion acts, and evictions. After eighty-seven years of Union, Ireland was said to be "instable, disloyal and impoverished". On the door behind the female figure in chains, which represents Erin symbolically for Ireland, stands the sentence "Cell 87 for Miss Erin". The shield on Queen Victoria’s statue explains "50 Years of Prosperity and Gentle Rule", the handbill below shows the other side of Victoria’s record in Ireland, namely the "Jubilee of Coercion Bill … Evictions … Closure … Poverty". The figure in the background with the orange hat ribbon of the Protestants represents UK Prime Minister Lord Salisbury. The title of the caricature is "Rejoice oh! greatly", apparently based on the book of Zechariah, chapter 9, verse 9 in the Bible. There it says: Français : Caricature nationaliste de 1887. Le jubilé de la règle d'or de la reine Victoria a été l'occasion de grandes célébrations publiques en Angleterre, alors qu'il était en Irlande pour une période de Land War (en anglais pour «guerre pour le pays», irlandais «Cogadh na talun»), les lois coercitives et les expulsions. Après quatre-vingt-sept ans d'union, l'Irlande a été décrite comme «instable, infidèle et appauvrie».
