Description
Deutsch: Villa Bergfried in Reichenau an der Rax (Niederösterreich), Schneebergweg 14. Eine Tafel nahe dem Zaun der Villa trägt folgende Aufschrift: „Villa Jakobsen Der Wiener Kaufmann und Bankier Martin Jakobsen konnte für den 1873 fertiggestellten Bau seiner Villa im Schneedörfl, den damals berühmten Architekten Heinrich von Ferstel gewinnen. Annähernd gleichzeitig war nach dessen Plänen die Villa Wartholz für Erzherzog Carl Ludwig entstanden. 1884 trafen sich in der Villa Jakobsen die Bankiers Julius Fränkel aus Wien und Baron Wilhelm Rothschild aus Frankfurt, die hier weitreichende, die damalige Wirtschaft Europas beeinflussende Absprachen trafen. Die Villa Jakobsen (heute 'Villa Bergfried') ist trotz wechselnder Besitzer in ihrer von Ferstel geschaffenen Baugestaltung völlig erhalten geblieben.“
