Summary[edit]

Description

Today, it was windy. I mean seriously windy. Standing here, on a clutch of unsteady rocks that jutted out into the sea, you could actually feel the vibration of the water hitting the rocks below your feet. The waves crashed in and rose well above my head, roaring in relentlessly as the sun slowly began to pull its way up above the horizon. As it did, the clouds turned from dark blue into an amber and the scene began to warm. At one point, just as I took this series of photos, the sky was partitioned into two. The inland side, was orange, the abyss side of the sky was blue.

With my composition I really tried to concentrate on angles. As the sky was already split into two, I tried to do the same with the foreground; breaking it into smaller parts using horizontal lines. This sort of composition is quite rare, as people tend to stick with the rule of thirds or the fibonacci spiral. But when you break the foreground into thirds, you deliver the image piece by piece. I feel that the eye makes its way along the rock formation, then traces the line of the shore into the image before landing at the hill in the distance, and finally the run bursting through the clouds. Thats the idea anyway :).
