| Description |
English: Two Routemaster buses of Edinburgh based private hire operator The Red Bus, pictured in the eastbond carriageway of Princes Street, the city's main shopping thogoughfare. Fitted out with tables, they're being used as seating for the cutomers buying 'winter warmer' food from the catering vans alongside, which belong to the nearby Italian restaurant La Favorita, based in Leith Walk. The company are taking advantage of the lack of traffic, the street having been closed for the rectification works required for the city's much delayed tram construction project. Pedestrians are similarly taking advantage of the closure by meandering along the westbound carriage way.
The bus infront is Routemaster RM1353 (reg. 353 CLT) Behind it is RM875 (reg. WLT 875), although this RM875 is actually the renumbered & re-registered RM666 (since 1993). This can create confusion as the original RM875 still exists and was the original wearer of registration WLT 875, but it has worn the registration OVS 940 since 1992. They also now have slightly different upper window and front vent designs, due to the fact the original RM875 was one of the buses refurbished in the early 2000s by Marshall of Cambridge. |
