Summary[edit]

Description Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Co. (Red Arrow) PCC car No. 16 on State Street just west of Orange Street in Media, Pennsylvania, in 1966. This is at - or just a few yards east of - the end of the line for what is now SEPTA route 101. Car 16 was starting (or about to start) an inbound trip, to the 69th Street Terminal. SEPTA took over the Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company in January 1970. Car 16 was a double-ended PCC built by the St. Louis Car Company in 1949; it was retired in 1980. The last PCC cars on SEPTA's Red Arrow Division were retired in October 1982.
