Joined theR.A.M.C. and saw service with this unit in Gallipoli.He received a Commission in the Royal Scots andproceeded to France, and was killed in action on3rd May, 1918. 2nd Lieut. John Scott Whyte, M.C. 5th Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). 2nd Lieut. John Scott Whyte, M.C, Calcutta FinanceDepartment. Joined the 5th Scottish Rifles and eventu-ally won the Military Cross. For this gallant actcongratulatory letters were sent from General Sir HerbertPlumer, commanding 2nd Army, and from Major-GeneralR. J. Penny, commanding 33rd Division.
