Summary[edit]

Description
English: According to the latest Climate Bulletin published by the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), in September 2022 Greenland has experienced the warmest average temperatures registered for a month of September since 1979. More specifically, over the centre of the island, surface air temperatures for the past month were more than 8°C higher than the 1991-2020 September average. This phenomenon was associated with prevailing winds reaching the region from the south and south-west after having crossed regions that were also warmer than average. This image, created using data provided by C3S, shows the Surface Air Temperature Anomaly for September 2022 in Greenland. As highlighted by the darkest shaded red colour, temperature anomalies reached peaks above +8ºC. The Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) regularly publishes Climate Bulletins presenting the current condition of European and world climate using key indicators, including surface air temperature.
