English: This French station located in the area of Sainte Assise near Melun still exists and is now used for strategic communications with submarines.
View of the international transmission reception room in the 1920s with giant loops for VLF frequency band around 30 kHz and wavelength 10,000 m. Shortwave transmissions above 3 MHz will be used from the 1930s. Receivers using exterior valves to monitor them as they were unreliable. We see two operators connected to 2 stations in the United States New York and Christinia. All this has been replaced since the 1990s by submarine fiber optic links. Nowaday these VLF frequencies are also used by scientists in order to study ionosphere, magnetosphere, solar events, gamma ray burts and and giant loops are still used.Français : Cette station Française située dans le domaine de Sainte Assise près de Melun existe toujours et elle sert maintenant pour les communications stratégiques avec les sous-marins.
Vue de la salle de réception des transmissions internationales dans les années 1920 avec des cadres géants pour bande de fréquence VLF autour de 30 kHz et longueur d'onde 10 000 m. Les transmissions par ondes courtes au-delà de 3 MHz seront utilisées à partir des années 1930. Les récepteurs utilisant des lampes extérieures pour les surveiller car elles étaient peu fiables. On voit deux opérateurs branchés sur 2 stations des Etats-Unis New-York et Christinia. Tout cela est remplacé depuis les années 1990 par des liaisons sous-marines à fibre optique. Aujourd'hui, les fréquences VLF sont utilisées aussi par les scientifiques pour étudier l'ionosphère, la magnétosphère, les événements solaires, les sursauts gamma, et les cadres géants sont toujours utilisés . |
