Description

It's all too tempting to write off minor branding tweaks as a modern phenomenon. When a company spends millions to implement a subtle tweak to its logo, a slight change in its brand colours or a barely noticeable change of corporate font, that's just the modern way, right?

Well, here's some evidence that the practice was going on back in the early 1990s. Look closely and you can see where somebody has gone to the trouble of replacing the older corporate blue arrow on this sign with a new navy arrow to reflect the brand colours of British Rail's then-new "Regional Railways" division. Impressive attention to detail!
