Rawa Bento is located in Jernih Jaya Village, Gunung Tujuh District, Kerinci Regency.
Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: It is one of the areas in the Kerinci Seblat National Park area. This swamp is located at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level and has an area of 1000 hectares. This area has a swamp ecosystem consisting of peat swamp grass, dwarf swamp forest, and small swamp lakes.
Rawa Bento which means swamp surrounded by green grass has the nickname The Highest Swamp of Asia and is also known as The Amazone of Kerinci. This swamp is one of the tourist attractions that must be visited when visiting Kerinci. Apart from its beautiful and calming scenery, Rawa Bento is also an important habitat for several types of water birds. There are 13 species of water birds and 39 other species of birds that live here. Some of them are migratory birds, which can only be found at certain times. Apart from birds, several other animals are also often seen such as buffalo and monkeys which are often seen hanging from tree branches near the swamp |
