Title

Description
English:

a brown snake with dark blotches on its back and a puffy, triangular shaped head and slit pupils

Rattlesnakes can be identified from other snakes by their distinct triangular head shape. However, if you can see their slit shaped pupils, you are probably too close! These snakes prefer to feed on small mammals such as mice, small rabbits, and prairie dogs. They are not aggressive and will avoid a conflict if they can.
