Description
English: Random flags in a field at Cereals 2010, near to Chrishall Grange, England, Great Britain. Not the work of crazed England football supporters, but a course designed to show how satellite self steering systems work for farm machinery. Self steering guidance systems are making a big impact on farm machinery as implements get bigger and wider it becomes more difficult to match each pass or bout without unnecessary overlaps. GPS steering systems guide the machines without any need for operator input other than headland turns and negotiating obstacles like electric poles. The Cereals event is a trade showcase for arable farmers and associated industries. Displays of machinery, products, latest technologies and trial plots of cereals are all laid out on a temporary show ground that alternates between different host farms around Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and next year Lincolnshire
