Ramariopsis corniculata (Schaeff.:Fr.) R.H. Petersen Image location: Kahite Trail, Vonore, Tennessee, USA Lots of these hidden under leaf litter, on soil, in hardwood forest. Very small, branches approx 1-2.5 mm wide, 10-30 mm tall, yellow, widening at apex, some branching, odd branching pattern. Recognized by sight: fruitbodies may be stunted due to weather, mealy odor, Based on microscopic features: Spores approx 5-7 microns, globose to subglobose with very prominant apiculus, clamps present. Based on chemical features: Positive FeSO4 reaction: Olive green.
