Summary
[edit]DescriptionRailhead just East of Ropley - geograph.org.uk - 670854.jpg |
English: Railhead just East of Ropley This is an example of the rail laying gang at work on the Watercress Line in May 1982. The Yellow machines ahead of the gang are called Boyer-Schwartz track layers. Two of these machines run on wide accommodation rails, they are self propelled and run back to pick up a track panel and transport to the railhead where they lower the panel to the ground, this is then bolted to the previously laid panel and so on. |
