Description
Il vaso dalla forma alquanto insolita, che probabilmente rappresenta una casa. Un lato del vaso è diviso in due registri decorativi. Quello inferiore che occupa i 2/3 della superficie presenta tre personaggi seduti che indossano uncu o tuniche con le maniche lunghe e sono avvolti da manti che li coprono quasi totalmente lasciando scoperto solo il lato frontale. Accanto alla testa e alle gambe di ogni personaggio sono collocati due fagotti, che probabilmente contengono delle offerte. Dalla testa di due delle figure (l’altra testa è illeggibile) esce una delle “appendici” che caratterizzano lo stile proliferato: probabilmente si tratta di un simbolo polisemantico, che di volta in volta può rappresentare un ornamento per la testa o una maschera boccale o il sangue o un elemento associato alla fertilità. Si potrebbe ipotizzare che la scena raffiguri tre mummie avvolte nel fardo funerario con le offerte e le appendici che alludono alla loro funzione propiziatrice.
