Rabdentse Palace Ruins are located just few kilometers from Gyalshing town and adjacent to Pemayangtse monastery. Rabdanste was the second capital of Sikkim, the first Capital was Yuksom. Tensung Namgyal the II Chogyal of Sikkim was born in 1644 AD and succeeded his father Phuntsog Namgyal in 1670 AD, He shifted the capital from Yuksom to Rabdentse,Gyalshing. Rabdentse Palace are now being preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India and have been declared as monument.
