Description
English: Woodcut used as final ornament on page 209 of Quintilian’s Institutio oratoria, ed. by Pieter Burman(n) the Elder, Leiden 1720. Full title: M. Fabii Quinc[!]tiliani de institutione oratoria libri duodecim, cum notis et animadversionibus virorum doctorum, summa cura recogniti et emendati per Petrum Burmannum. Lugduni Batavorum, Apud Joannem de Vivie, MDCCXX. The same woodcut is also used as final ornament on some other pages of this book, e.g. on page 1041 (end of book XI) and 1114 (end of book XII).
Deutsch: Holzschnitt als Schlussstück (Ornament am Ende einer Kolumne) auf Seite 209 von Quintilians Institutio oratoria, hrsg. von Pieter Burman(n) dem Älteren, Leiden 1720. Voller Titel: M.
