Description
English: Old Guheshowari temple located in Goldhunga, Tarkeshwar municipality of Kathmandu district. This temple is located in a beautiful place. This temple is located near the greenery near Nagarjuna Danda. There are also idols of Ganesh, Kumar, Surya, Buddha and other deities in the temple premises. In the middle, the idol of Guheshowari Bhagwati is under a big poplar tree. There are also two ponds called Chandra and Surya near this temple. This is a historical temple. Until the Guheshowari temple near Pashupati was discovered, the same old Guheshowari was believed to have originated from the fall of the goddess Sati. In ancient times, Mahadev put Calcut poison in his throat and could not bear the burning of it. After her, Parbati stayed here. This is the menstrual period i.e. menstruation. Since she could not walk with her husband during her menstruation, she stayed here for four days. As it is a place where Parbati stays for four days, it is called Old Guheshowari. This place has a religious and historical identity as a place of pilgrimage of mythological importance. It was discovered only after Pashupati's Guheshowari Temple.
