Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Psathyrella candolleana from 19th Avenue and Lincoln Way, San Francisco, California, USA found on a slight hill in dirt/grass, where water was dripping down onto the sidewalk. There was a cluster of light brown/tan capped mushrooms with very thin caps, dark brown gills, and thin hollow stipes that were mostly white, with a little brown near the top. A few inches next to it were mushrooms (also pictured) that looked identical in gill and stipe, also in clusters but with dark brown caps. These were also much wetter, like maybe advanced age. Both are very fragile. I ran through a bunch of possibilities in Mushrooms Demystified last night but various characteristics eliminated it. Incidentally the 3 black spored mushrooms (Coprinus?) I am about to also post were a few inches away. The spore print is brown (photos look a little blacker). The deposits are pretty thick in parts but even where it is thinner it seems a darker brown, not a light brown.
