Speed/consumption relation in distance = v2 Blue line as reference. Efficiency reduced to red line by bad weather (wave resistance), hull fouling or deep draught. Increased efficiency to green line by optimization of engines, thrusters, draught or hull. Reduction of consumption along blue line by slowing down. Blue line doesn't start at zero because of hotel load. |
