[edit]DescriptionPrincesa mixteca Cocusi 3 Pedernal.jpg |
English: Lady Cocusi or Lady 3-Flint was an important Ñuudzahui (Mixtec) princess from Ancient Mexico. Her story was depicted with glyphs in indigenous books like Codex Nuttall (pages 14 – 19) anverse. She is the founder of the kingdom of Ñuu Tnoo - Huahi Andehui (Tilantongo, Oaxaca) and founder of the city's royal lineage. Of great power, and importance, she married two princes, and attained the power to move the dead remains of 9 Wind (Quetzalcoatl?) as relics. Again, history itself debunks the wrong widespread Western idea that indigenous peoples in Mexico were based in a macho society. This painting depicts a rite that was part of her wedding ritual in day 2 eagle, year 10 house (year 957?). Centuries later the Mixtecs were conquered by the Aztecs.
