English: Illustration of the en:Poynting-Robertson effect. Light from the sun S impinges on a particle (velocity v), thermal radiation leaves the particle.

For an observer moving with the particle, sunlight seems to impinge from a direction slighly against the direction of motion due to aberration.

The drawing strongly exaggerates the effect.
Deutsch: Schemabild zur Ilustration des de:Poynting-Robertson-Effektes. Das Licht der Sonne S trifft auf ein Teilchen (Geschwindigkeit v) auf; die Energie wird als Wärmestrahlung abgegeben.

Für einen mit dem Teilchen bewegten Beobachter scheint das Sonnenlicht aus einer Richtung schräg von vorne zu kommen.

Der Effekt ist stark übertrieben dargestellt.
